The ESSDACK Health Insurance Program is comprised of 41 districts with a contract count of over 3,000. The three tiered plan consists of a $500 Deductible, a $1000 Deductible, and a $1500 Deductible each with a Single or Family option. The ESSDACK Health Insurance Program is lead by a committee which includes representatives from each of the 7 clusters. Those currently serving on the committee are: Jerry Hinerman, Board Clerk – Business Manager from Hillsboro USD #410, Keith Custer, Anthony-Harper USD #361 Superintendent, Patrick Call, Haven USD #312 Superintendent, Chris Ruder, Board Clerk – Business Manager from McPherson USD #418, Tom Bishard, Halstead USD #440 Superintendent, Richard Goodschmidt, Ellinwood USD #355 Superintendent, and Mike Cook, Executive Director of ESSDACK.
Districts can apply for membership by contacting Dr. Mike Cook or Bonnie Ehling at the ESSDACK office. New districts are carefully evaluated according to the Statement of Assurances to ensure they will be a positive addition to the plan. Even after passing this scrutiny, new districts are not eligible to receive the reduced premiums the long term members receive due to the favorable group reserves which have been built over the years. New districts will not receive full discounted premiums until they have been in the group for a period of 3 to 5 years.
WANT LOWER PREMIUMS????
For those of you who are currently in the ESSDACK Health Insurance Program and would like to reduce your premiums, here’s how to make it happen. Due to premiums of the ESSDACK Health Insurance Program being based almost entirely on the amount spent for medical services, if you and every other covered employee would reduce your family’s claims by $333 a year, the plan would save over $1,000,000.00, This in turn could reduce your premiums by 6%. Definitely something to think about and to share with your fellow employee.
